A new chapter in Oklahoma City’s story of resilience and triumph is now on display at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. Unveiled in early July, the new graphic installation titled “Hope Wins” celebrates the Oklahoma City Thunder’s first-ever NBA Championship. The triumphant achievement coincides with the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
Exhibit Concepts was once again honored to partner with the institution to produce this important new addition, located in Chapter 10: Hope. The centerpiece of the display is a now iconic photograph by Thunder team photographer Jimmy Do, capturing the moment the team’s championship parade bus paused in front of the 9:03 Gate. The symbolic and reflective image offers a connection of the past to the present.
For Oklahoma City, this moment captured in time isn’t just about basketball, i’s about identity, healing, and pride. For the Oklahoma City Thunder, the museum has become a significant part of each player’s journey with team. Every new player visits the museum before playing their first game. It’s a tradition designed to ground the team in the city’s powerful story of community and perseverance.
Exhibit Concepts has been a proud partner of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum for more than a decade. The partnership has included offering support for exhibit enhancements, graphic updates, and storytelling tools that honor the memory of those lost while also uplifting the spirit of those who continue to carry the city forward.
Whether it’s Interpretive Planning, thoughtful design, or world-class craftsmanship, Exhibit Concepts continued collaboration is rooted in our belief that every story deserves to be told with care and purpose.
In recent years, our partnership has stretched beyond the walls of the museum. The Exhibit Concepts team has helped facilitate several event activations for the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. Exhibit Concepts has been tasked with implementing engagements including pre-race displays and even the start and finish line for the famed Run to Remember.
We’re deeply grateful and proud to help bring this inspiring championship moment for Oklahoma City to life, and to continue our role in a space that represents so much to so many.
In Oklahoma City, and in the hearts of those who visit, Hope Wins.
