The Ford House | Tradition and Technology

The Ford House in Grosse Point Shores, Michigan, is the former home of Edsel and Eleanor Ford. As the only son of Henry Ford, Edsel moved his family into the 87-acre estate to provide an escape from their busy life in Detroit.

In the year’s since the family’s departure from the home, the property has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been converted into a museum dedicated to past residents.

Exhibit Concepts was chosen to design and fabricate a one-of-a-kind gallery at the newly constructed visitor center. The exhibit, titled “Making It Work,” paired classic exhibitry with unique, digital engagements to tell the story of the staff and families that lived alongside the Ford family.

Exhibit Concepts’ NEXT Lab and creative teams took the complex topic and created a compelling and immersive experience.
