Faces of ECI: Meet Sharla Robertson

This “Faces of ECI” profile focuses on Sharla Robertson, an Account Manager with Exhibit Concepts. From friends and colleagues to unicycling, Sharla is opening up in our latest “Faces of ECI” profile.

When did your career at Exhibit Concepts begin?

My career at Exhibit Concepts began in April 2021.

Explain your role.

In my role as an account manager, I manage our internal house trade show program and I also manage programs for our external clients.

Describe your most impactful client moment.

My most impactful client moment at Exhibit Concepts was probably attending MuseumExpo in 2023. My first client technically as an account manager and event manager is Exhibit Concepts. I was really proud ot be able to incorporate our creative team into our trade show program in the last year and a half. Specifically, my friend and colleague Brittani Mumford attended her first trade show and was able to work alongside myself and our sales team in the booth. She just did an incredible job. It was really nice to see the growth and the confidence that came out of that for Brittani and get to witness that firsthand. I was really proud of that.

What do you like most about Exhibit Concepts?

What I like the most about Exhibit Concepts is definitely the people that I get to work with everyday. Three of those people are related to me. I have the privilege to work with a brother-in-law, a niece, and a nephew here. Even outside of that, Exhibit Concepts is probably the only place that I’ve ever worked where everyone genuinely shows up as themselves everyday and we all work very hard to be accepting and work to build on strengths and we are all very different.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my job and my role is the exposure I get to every single department. That doesn’t happen for everyone here specifically, but I have the opportunity to work with almost every team we have internally and get to know the people first and also collaborate and work really hard to try to add value to that team and that goals that they’re trying to achieve.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE...

Favorite food?

I would have to say that my favorite food is probably queso dip.

Favorite band or musician?

Creedence Clearwater Revival. It’s an old one for me. It definitely takes me back to my childhood. We would really jam that tape in my mom’s Buick on the way to the campground every year.

Favorite TV show?

I will always stop what I am doing to watch Seinfeld.

Favorite movie?

My favorite move is definitely Tombstone.

Favorite book or author?

I don’t really have a favorite author, per se, but my most recent favorite book that I’ve read is The Great Alone.

What is your ideal place to live?

I don’t necessarily have one ideal place to live. I’ve lived in the same place my whole life, so I’m at the point that I really want to travel and experience many different places before I settle in.

What charitable cause is important to you?

The one charitable cause that is very close to my heart is Hospice of Dayton.

Who is one person you’d want to have dinner with? Past or present? Why?

One person that I would like to have dinner with from the past would probably be myself. If I could go back and talk to 10-year-old Sharla and tell her some things she probably needed to hear, I think that would definitely change the trajectory of some things and maybe give me the opportunity to help more people along the way.

What are your secret talents?

I have one secret talent that is no longer going to be a secret, I can ride a unicycle.

What is a superpower you wish you had? Why?

A superpower I wish I had, I mean, I can already ride a unicycle, so what else is there?
